Each year, Rio de Janeiro’s streets come alive with electrifying colors, samba music, enormous floats, masquerades, costumes and dancers. Be a part of the largest and most famous celebration the world has to offer!

Called “carnival” in English, and “carnaval” in Portuguese, there’s more than one way to say it, and more than one way to celebrate. Our staff becomes international locals in all of the cities we hold events, so leave it to us to help you bridge the gap and celebrate in the most authentic way.

The Sambodromo

The Sambodromo is where the magic of Rio comes out to life! It is the stadium/venue where the Samba Parade takes place, but this is no ordinary stadium. The Sambodromo stretches for over half a mile with concrete bleachers on both sides of the street where the Samba Schools do their parade. Being such a large venue, the Sambodromo is divided into different sectors. The sectors in the middle are the most coveted and most difficult tickets to get for the parade. This is where you will be with your Bucket List Events group! We want you to experience Carnaval at its best, and the views that are offered in this sector are unmatchable.

Your experienced Bucket List Events guide will be with you and the other members of your group will be you and the other members of your group to make sure you get the best seat possible for you to enjoy the show. Watching the Parade from a higher position will give you a better view of the overall parade and moving closer will make you appreciate better the costume details and the paraders’ performance and samba. However, the atmosphere is contagious and most people simply stand up, cheer and dance. Here, being so close to and together with thousands of Brazilians, you will really experience what Carnival actually means to them.

Carnival Blocos

Bloco bands consist of volunteers who practice the entire year to play during Carnival. The groups work all year honing their skills and raising as much money as possible to host the best street party during Carnival. These street parties are becoming so popular venue locations are being changed to accommodate for the increase in participants. Fortunately Bucket List Events has the local in and will get you to the best blocos regardless of how many times the locations are changed. Blocos typically range from a few hundred participants to the Cordao do Bola Preta bloco which reported having two million people. Unlike the Sambadrome Parades where spectators sit in purchased seats and watch, at the blocos parties you are expected to participate. So put on your best costume and join in the festivities!
